Convergence Engineering 1
Nano & Bio

The CE1 research group develops advanced nanomaterial and device technologies for precision diagnostics and targeted therapeutics. By designing and synthesizing high-sensitivity, on-demand functional nanomaterials—such as chiral optical sensors and biomarker-selective diagnostic materials—the group establishes next-generation diagnostic platforms for liquid biopsy and disease-specific detection. In parallel, CE1 advances safe and efficient drug delivery systems based on microneedles, exosomes, and multifunctional nanomaterials, and drives these technologies toward scale-up, system integration, preclinical validation, and commercialization.
Interdisciplinary research with other groups
CE1 actively engages in interdisciplinary convergence research by translating biological targets, aging biomarkers, and therapeutic concepts from convergence research groups into engineered diagnostic and delivery platforms. Through close collaboration with convergence technology groups, CE1 integrates nanomaterial synthesis, chemical functionalization, and device engineering with AI-driven analysis, systems biology, and clinical insights. This cross-disciplinary collaboration enables end-to-end development—from target identification to scalable diagnostic and therapeutic solutions—supporting precision medicine and commercialization for aging-related diseases.
